Dreams

This is the title of one of my new stories, It's a good idea, if I say so myself. Maybe not original, just because nearly everything with dreams as been done before, so I had to put a bit of a spin on it.
Some of you may have noticed most of what I write is based for people around twelve, give or take (probably give). Dreams is not. It's a little darker, and not very much like my other stuff, I don't think. It may not be to everyone's taste. If I saw it in a bookstore I might not want it. But for some reason this is something I want to do. I'm just saying it might not be for everyone. If you want something to make you smile a bit, I wouldn't read it. Or maybe I'll change it, nothing I do is set in stone, except for Nix and Mist and Stolen, I know what I'm doing with those.
So I'm just wondering, with this, whether I should make it more enjoyable? Or maybe not post it at all? Thoughts?
Don't expect anything anytime soon. Homework is being forced apon me, and I might not get anything to write for a while. Nix and Mist is taking my priority, and I think after that it might be Stolen, so this might not be out for a while. But this is just a warning that this isn't my usual stuff, at least not the way I'm going with it right now, and you might not like it. It's not digusting, horrible, Silence of the Lambs sort of thing, but I'm just saying... something. Just tell me if you want it to be something you would like to read, because this is the only time I'm doing something with this idea. I won't do it from another's point of view, and make it happy. So if you want this idea that is very good in my eyes to be fun and enjoyable, tell me. I might not even post it, so tell me. COMMENT

  1. Well....if its like that thing you write with the kid getting shot dead, then no, I don't want to read it. I don't know. How am I supposed to know what it's like if I haven't read a bit of it yet?

  2. I want to read it, Nix. If it does DO make me feel horrible like someone I know's died or something, it'll mean that you are a very good writer and can really make your readers feel emotion.

That's why I think Darren Shan is a very good writer - do you know that part in the Saga of Darren Shan where Mr Crepsley died? That was SOOO horrible but it was SOOO cleverly done, he really got the reader to experience the death in the worst way possible. Even though I hated those books for making me feel so horrible, I appreciate the brilliance of the writing.

I'm not sure quite where I'm going with this, but yeah, write it. Please.

  3. I would like to read it too. I don't mind if it's dark, and, as Eve said, I haven't even read it yet. So I wouldn't know how I'd feel about it. Although, unlike Eve, I didn't mind that part with the kid. You still made it sound good. So I agree with Star in that way. You're a good writer if you can make it feel real or emotional for the readers. So I'd like to read it first, and see how I feel about it after. Who knows, I might even like it. A lot or a little, it depends. So please, post it.

  5. *remembers picture of human skin gloves that was one of the first Tumblr post I ever saw*
Silence of the Lambs... glad I never read that.

Anyway cool. I wrote something dark for English once and I quite enjoyed it. It was fun but I had to be in the right mood, you know?
I like the idea anyway. Sometimes we need a bit of darkness in our lives, ying and yang.
